I have to admit that I am surprised

Surprised by my name again

17 Mar 2003

You've already read my blog entry about the first time I was surprised by my name. Well, today I was websurfing at work and came across the Periodic Table of Haiku. As all of you chemistry majors know, there is an element named ytterbium, named after a town in Sweden. If you scrutinize the name like I did, though, you might be fooled into thinking the element was named after me. Ytterbium spelled backwards is mui-Brett-y. And the atomic number of ytterbium, 70, is an abbreviation of my birth year.

On this linked page, I learned that "ytterbium" is an anagram of "I'm buttery."
