Today, a rainy and somewhat chilly day, would be a good day for me to experiment with the fireplace. I bought my house three and a half years ago, but I've never used the fireplace in the den. Earlier this year, when I called a chimney sweep to see how much it would cost to clean the fireplace, they told said it would cost twice as much as a normal visit because a lot of extra labor is required to remove (and after cleaning, reinstall) the woodstove insert in my fireplace. Ding-dang it!! I can't afford to do that, so I'm gonna take a chance that if I light a fire on a rainy day like today, I won't burn the house down. Offer your feedback here. |
