Unreliable redirects

13 Sep 2003

Some of my blog visitors have had trouble getting to my site lately, saying that they are getting a "403 Forbidden" error. I couldn't imagine why Prodigy was only feeding my site to a select group of people, but then I realized it was not a Prodigy error. Here's the deal:

The actual address of this site is pages.prodigy.net/jbmason, and any other address you may use to get here is called a REDIRECT address. It is a crutch that could easily break, so do not put your full weight on it!!!

All the people who registered subdomains at ipfox.com, including me at bugle.ipfox.com, are screwed by the incompetence of the IPFOX people. My bugle.ipfox.com visitors are getting a "403 Forbidden" error page.

I have had five redirect addresses in the lifespan of this website, and three of them are dead. So don't use them anymore. If all else fails, search Google for my name or my website name.
