I think living in Kentucky is great, but yesterday on Blogdex I learned that I was missing out on something big: Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day. There are no Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops in Kentucky. Today on Blogdex I see that I can take part of something similar and bigger: Baskin-Robbins' free scoop night. There's a Baskin-Robbins in walking distance of my house. Woo-hoo! And here's another missed opportunity that is not competely gone: late last year I found out about (and attended) a French film series being run by the French department at the University of KY. Yesterday I was poking around the UK website and discovered I just missed another French film series, one which closes tonight with their showing of L'Enfer. So I wrote to the coordinator of the series to find out when the next one will be, and she said she'd put me on a mailing list to get a flier in the fall. Woo-hoo! Now all I lack is a job opportunity to replace the job I'm about to lose. |
