Patty and I have a running joke about my shoes. I always wear these beat-up Nautica tennis shoes that I bought at TJ Maxx a while back (maybe 1998). Whenever Patty sees me in these shoes, she says "are those new shoes?" So believe me, I know that women notice how little money I spend, and I know that women would find me more attractive if I spent more money. But screw that! If I had been a spender all my life, I would never have been able to lounge around my very own house in a state of blissful unemployment, as I'm doing right now and plan to continue to do for a few months. I'm having too much fun to care how unattractive I may be to women. Back off, world; leave me alone about money. If you want me to spend more, give me better reasons and some bigger motivation.
